Build Progress - 04/24

Pretty busy this month, getting back into the swing of things.
Kembla Heights yard is now complete. This involved running the branch up from Kembla Junction, and grossing the gate - 2ish years after that roadbed was put down:
Mock-up of the plan and gluing in progress.
For this yard, I've opted for Caboose industries ground throws. There is one standalone servo under dispatcher control for the platform road, this was embbeded in the foam next to the turnout (first one at the top of the grade)
With this yard now in place, all of the main track is now complete! The golden spike passed without too much fanfare.
My mind is now turning to that first operating session. I've reset my Trello board and have a bit of a plan on what I want to do before that first shakedown session, and also have dumped down a few other items I want to look at eventually:

Not of all of these things will be done before OS #1, but a good chunk of the to-do and planning lanes will be.
So with this in mind, I've started playing with Switchlist to build out jobs for the layout, moving freight around. So far I'm really liking it, once you get your head around the logic you can tweak some of the attributes to work in your favour. Here's the first job sheet for the local goods, that originates out of Nowra:
I'll start populating additional jobs once I've validated the few here, and then I think I'll print two sessions worth out for most trains - this gives me the up/down service which I think will typically run during a session for each job.
Another item I'm working on is signals. The last batch of signals was panelised and ordered this week, and to prep I've installed WLED on the remaining ESPs for Kembla Heights, Bombo and Kiama. This will be starting very shortly once the last batch arrive

Thats it for now. I hope in the next 2-3 months, OS #1 will have been and gone - with many more to come!
